Alternatively, the adapter card does not require a direct connection to the motherboard PCI local bus, letting you install the card as a standalone 2 port Powered USB card. The adapter card features a low profile design that's suitable for installation in a small form factor/micro form factor computer - allowing you to add one 12V and one 24V keyed Powered USB connector to virtually any computer, regardless of the case form factor. The StarTech.com Advantage -Connector locking mechanism prevents cables from being unplugged accidentally. -Connects to a Powered USB Main Board or a mother board of a PC using an extension cable. -Supports extra powered USB ports with different voltages.
