Energy-saving and quiet design The SS-839 Pro is the smallest 8-bay NAS in the market and can be easily deployed anywhere in the office. It is also an energy-saving storage solution with excellent cooling and low noise design. The power consumption of the NAS is only 34W in operation (in RAID 5 configuration with eight 500GB hard drives installed), which helps save your electricity expense to a large extent. Superior Performance and Advanced RAID Redundancy Powered by Intel Atom 1.6 GHz CPU and 2GB DDRII memory, the SS-839 Pro supports RAID 0/ 1/ 5/ 6/ 5 + hot spare, single, and JBOD, Online RAID Capacity Expansion, and Online RAID Level Migration. Secure Data Protection by AES 256-bit Volume-based Encryption To meet the demand for high security data protection of the business users, the SS-839 Pro supports AES 256-bit volume-based encryption. The encrypted disk volumes of the NAS must be unlocked by the encryption password to be accessed, which eliminates the fear of confidential data leakage if the hard drives or the NAS were stolen. *Note: Data encryption functions may not be available in accordance to legislative restrictions of some countries. iSCSI Solution with Virtual Space Allocation The SS-839 Pro can serve as a NAS and an iSCSI target server. Versatile business applications are supported, e.g. file server, FTP server with encryption, printer server, web server, and encrypted remote replication.
