This PCI Express based 12V Powered USB Card allows you to add three Powered USB (USB PlusPower) ports to any standard form-factor sized computer, using an available PCI Express Slot. Drawing power from either the PCI Express slot or the computer power supply, the powered USB adapter card provides up to 3A of current to each connected device, allowing for up to three Powered USB devices to be installed at the same time. Plus, the PCI Express Powered USB Adapter card can be connected to the corresponding accessory daughter board PUSBADAP (2 Port Low Profile 12V/24V Powered USB Adapter Card), to create two additional Powered USB ports, but does not require a second PCI Express slot. The StarTech.com Advantage -Backwards compatible with standard USB 2.0, USB 1.1 and Powered USB peripheral devices. -Connector locking mechanism prevents cables from being unplugged accidentally. -Eliminates power adapters for your USB devices, i.e. receipt printers, bar-code scanners, drawers, displays, etc. -Enables a low-cost, standard PC to become a powerful retail system. -Supports up to 127 devices. Features -3 external 12V Powered USB Connectors. -Powered from either the 1x PCI Express slot or the Power Supply of the P.C. with a standard LP4 connection. -Supplies power and data signals over hot-plugging USB cable. -Can be linked to a daughter board or stand alone. -Backwards compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0 standards and allow for hot-plugging. -No external power is required. -Two internal USB connections can be used to expanded to the daughter board by connecting the USB header on the Main Board to the USB header on the daughter board using a USB cable. -Cable locking mechanism. -Maximum data transfer rate: 480 Mbps.
