When the DEM-420X is plugged into the switch, it provides 2 uplink XFP 10Gigabit ports for connections to the switches, each module providing a whopping bandwidth of 20 gigabit with two appropriate XFPs. Designed to alleviate any bottlenecks that might occur at the access core, the DEM-420X is targeted for use as an uplink to servers, or backbone switches in medium to large size businesses.
