EPU for Extreme Energy Efficiency The Z8PE-D12X is equipped with the ASUS exclusive EPU technology to provide total system power efficiency by detecting current loadings and intelligently moderating power in real-time to ensure the best power management. ASUS PIKE Supported With the ASUS optional PIKE providing slim-sized and flexible storage options, direct SAS RAID upgrades can be achieved directly via a unique slot—without sacrificing expansion capability. The ASUS PIKE further provides customers with multiple I/O solutions and RAID functions; and is compatible with all ASUS Tylersburg DP MB for future use. Dual Use for Server and Workstation with Flex-E Technology and MIO Card The ASUS Flex-E Technology provides the flexibility to auto-switch between 1 PCI-E x16 link (Graphic card supported) and 2 PCI-E x8 link (for I/O expansion), allowing the customers to use PCI-E link more flexible. Optional ASMB4-iKVM Upgrade Kit for Easy Troubleshooting The optional ASMB4-iKVM upgrade kit provides remote real-time full control access to the system based on BIOS-level by keyboard, video monitor and mouse (KVM over Ethernet) from any local computer anywhere, anytime. Designed for Virtualization Virtualization provides central management through a hub and reduces power consumption and cost for cooling and space requirements. The Z8PE-D12X is able to provide excellent virtualization applications with ISV certification. The onboard vertical USB connector is designed for VMWare ESXi, to make full use of the system resource and reduce the TCO and IT expense. Native DDR3 Support for Higher Bandwidth Requirements The Z8PE-D12X supports UDIMM and RDIMM DDR3 memory that features data transfer rates of 1333/1066MHz to meet higher bandwidth requirements for server and workstation applications. This voltage reduction from 1.8V for DDR2 to just 1.5V for DDR3 limits the power consumption and heat generation of DDR3, making it an ideal memory solution.
