As a RAID 1- enabled (disk mirroring) NAS, TeraStation™ Duo offers best fault tolerance and maximum reliability. The TeraStation™ Duo is almost identical to TeraStation III, except that the Duo has only two hard drives instead of four. It incorporates firmware features found in Buffalo’s business class NAS, such as Active Directory, Hot Swap drives, Replication, and dual Ethernet ports for port trunking and load balancing. The TeraStation™ Duo is the perfect choice for business users who want an easy-to-deploy and easy-to-manage redundant network attached storage solution. Hot Swap protection against data loss With Hot Swap functionality, the TeraStation™ Duo will automatically power down the faulty drive and allow it to be safely removed and replaced with a new drive, without causing any downtime or data loss. Data backup with replication The backup replication function allows a second TeraStation™ Duo to be connected via a LAN port and for data to be replicated, enabling it to become a spare drive. Having a spare or mirrored unit improves reliability, fault tolerance and accessibility, and promotes quick recovery from any hard drive failure. High-speed data transfer TeraStation™ Duo boasts vastly improved CPU speed and supports faster data transfer rates of up to 69MB per second.
