It interfaces directly with the antenna's position sensors, limit switches, and motors. The RC3050 features a 2x16 liquid crystal display (LCD) and an 8-key keypad. Optional features include a hand-held remote control (RC3000HRC) and auto-deploy/auto-stow functionality (RC3050ASD). The auto-deploy feature raises the antenna from stow to vertical, and auto-stow places it back in the stow configuration. The controller calculates the antenna pointing solution based on vehicle latitude/longitude, vehicle heading, and satellite longitude, and can automatically position the antenna and perform a satellite search if signal strength data is available. The RC3000 predecessor calculates the pointing solution using vehicle location/heading and satellite longitude.
