The MikroTik hEX S (RB760iGS) is a fanless, five-port Gigabit Ethernet router built for wired deployments where Wi-Fi isn't needed. It adds a 1.25 Gbit/s SFP cage and PoE output on Ether5 on top of the standard hEX feature set, making it a good fit for small business edge routing, WISP installations, VPN termination, or home-lab use. Under the hood is a dual-core MT7621A CPU running at 880 MHz with 256MB of RAM and 16MB of onboard flash, backed by a microSD slot for expanded storage or logging. It includes a USB 2.0 port, runs RouterOS with a Level 4 license, and supports The Dude network monitoring server package. Hardware-accelerated IPsec encryption delivers throughput of roughly 470 Mbps for VPN workloads. Power comes via a 24V 1.2A adapter (included) or PoE-in (802.3af/at, 12-57V), and the router can pass PoE out to another device on Ether5 (passive PoE up to 57V). The plastic, fanless case is rated for operation from -40°C to +70°C.
