The ICY DOCK ToughArmor MB996SP-6SB is a rugged, full metal backplane cage designed to fit six 7mm to 9.5mm thick 2.5" SATA hard drives or SSDs into a single external 5.25" device bay. It is commercially designed for medical and military systems, media servers, IPCs, and HTPCs, approved and used by Tier 1 companies. The full metal construction provides durability and aids in heat dissipation. It supports high-performance RAID applications like dual RAID 5 arrays or RAID 0 + RAID 1, or non-RAID JBOD storage. The enclosure features Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT) and EMI grounding for a stable drive environment. Drives are hot-swappable, indicated by individual LED indicators (Solid Green for power, Flashing Amber for HDD access). Cooling is provided by a 40mm rear fan with a High/Low/Off switch. It supports SATA 3.0 up to 6Gbps transfer rates with no speed reduction. Power is supplied via two 4-pin Molex connectors.
