The LSI00297 is a CacheVault Accessory Kit, also referred to as LSICVM01, designed for use with MegaRAID SAS 9271 and 9266 Series RAID controller cards. This kit provides flash-based cache data protection from power or server failures by temporarily storing cache data to NAND Flash and restoring it when power returns, using a super-capacitor instead of lithium-ion batteries. This offers lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and is more environmentally friendly than traditional Battery Backup Units (BBUs).
