The module supports HP Auto-MDIX, allowing for automatic crossover detection and correction. Cabling requirements range from Category 3 (or better) for 10Base-T up to Category 5 (5E or better recommended) for 1000Base-T, with a maximum distance of 100m over copper. The module requires switch software version G.07.01 or later for installation. It supports hot-swapping of transceivers and mini-GBICs without shutting down the switch.
