The LG-Ericsson iPECS ES-1205GPD is a 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged PoE Switch that provides plug-and-play installation, high-performing gigabit speed, flexible PoE installation options, simple embedded QoS, and green energy savings for SMB networks. The LG-Ericsson iPECS ES-1205GPD provides a true plug and play solution for connecting various networking devices. It easily connects to any network using a combination of auto negotiation to select the optimum speed and duplex for each link and auto MDI/MDIX to remove the need for cross over cables. It interoperates seamlessly with the customer’s existing network at wire speed without any additional configuration, and it is easy to diagnose and monitor the operation status and activity using the per-port diagnostic LEDs. The ES-1205GPD is designed to be powered by PoE (802.3at) but can also support an external adapter (not included). The switch can then provide PoE to the other 4 ports making it a very flexible device for installing IP phones, Access Points or IP Cameras. The switch can be used to extend the reach of PoE enabling the placement of an access point or IP phone beyond the standard 100m reach of Ethernet. Desktop deployment is very useful for the highly connected desktop where multiple devices including IP phones and laptops require performance and PoE but with the flexibility of the single PoE cable to the desktop. When combining the flexibility of PoE and the gigabit performance, it offers a very convenient solution for SMB networks. The switch incorporates simple QoS mechanisms based on 802.1p tagging and IP TOS. These mechanisms use priority queues, permitting the customer’s network to deal with VoIP traffic effectively using a higher priority. These switches are optimized for small offices to setup a simple VoIP network with a minimum investment and fully take advantage of the benefits of IP Telephony in a cost effective way. 802.1p tagging and IP TOS based QoS are pre-configured at the factory based on standards. The LG-Ericsson iPECS ES-1205GPD Gigabit PoE Switch can transmit and receive traffic seamlessly in full-duplex mode and at non-blocking wire speed performance. Each port supports seamlessly up to 2Gbps of bandwidth for transmitting and receiving packets in full-duplex mode. In addition, each port supports auto uplink making it straightforward to design the ES-1205GPD to expand or upgrade your existing network.
