The Cisco EHWIC-4ESG is a Quad Port Enhanced High-Speed WAN Interface Card providing four Gigabit Ethernet switch ports for integration into Cisco Integrated Services Routers Generation 2 (ISR G2), specifically the 1900, 2900, and 3900 Series ISRs. It offers a combination of switching and routing integrated into a single device for small to medium-sized business (SMB) and enterprise branch offices. It supports up to 1Gbps per port using RJ-45 connectors and enables the connection of devices like IP phones, wireless access points, and IP cameras. Features include Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 forwarding, VLAN support (up to 64 VLANs), Quality of Service (QoS), auto-negotiation, Wake-on-LAN, Jumbo Frames, and load balancing. It can also support IEEE 802.3af or Cisco ePoE for powering attached devices when integrated with the appropriate ISR and Unified Communications Manager Express.
