The AMD Alveo SN1000 SmartNIC family offers software-defined hardware acceleration for network, storage, and compute offloads on a single platform. Based on the AMD 16nm UltraScale+™ architecture, they are powered by the low-latency AMD XCU26 FPGA and a 16-core Arm® processor subsystem (NXP Layerscape LX2162A with 16 64-bit Arm Cortex®-A72 cores at 2.0 GHz). They provide 100Gb connectivity with industry-leading small packet performance and low-latency on PCIe Gen 4. Key functions offloaded include Open Virtual Switch (OVS), Virtio, security (IPsec, kTLS, SSL/TLS), and storage acceleration (NVMe™ over TCP, Ceph, compression/crypto). The SN1022 model comes in a Full Height Half Length (FHHL) form factor with two QSFP28 ports and has a maximum electrical power limit of 75W (TDP 70W). The platform supports custom offloads programmed via P4 or High-Level Synthesis (HLS).
