The Cisco NIM-ES2-8 is an 8-port Gigabit Ethernet Switch Network Interface Module designed to integrate Layer 2 switching capabilities directly into Cisco 4000 Series ISRs (like the ISR 4331, 4351, 4431, 4451). It delivers high-speed, line-rate switching performance for branch office connectivity, supporting key IEEE protocols, VLANs, and QoS features. It is distinct from the NIM-ES2-8-P as it does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE).
