The ASR1000-ESP5 is a specialized plug-in module for Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers, primarily the ASR 1002. It offloads data-plane processing tasks, including encryption, firewall, QoS, and NAT, from the main route processor to achieve high-speed performance (5 Gbps encrypted throughput) based on the Cisco QuantumFlow Processor.
