The MegaRAID SAS 9270-8i is an eight-port internal 6Gb/s SAS/SATA RAID controller built on the LSISAS2208 dual-core ROC (RAID on Chip). It features two 800MHz PowerPC processor cores and a 72-bit DDRIII interface driving 1GB of cache memory. It supports the latest PCI Express 3.0 and 6Gb/s SAS technology, designed to maximize the performance benefits of solid-state storage. It offers standard support for RAID levels 0, 1, 5, and 6, as well as spans 10, 50, and 60. It uses two Mini-SAS SFF-8087 internal connectors (top mount) and fits the MD2 Low profile form factor (6.6” X 2.536”). It can connect up to 128 SAS and/or SATA drives and SSDs. Optional cache protection is available with the LSIiBBU09 battery backup unit.
