It supports Wideband G.722 HD voice for high intelligibility and clarity, which is essential for emergency notifications. The 8180 includes SoundSure™ technology to automatically adjust volume based on ambient noise levels. It also supports multicasting to scale from a single unit to many speakers across a network. Security is handled via TLS and SRTP, and the device is powered by PoE (IEEE 802.3af), eliminating the need for a local power supply.
