RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) The Gigabit SATA NAS 3 TB supports RAID 0 and RAID 1 configurations: RAID 0 (striped disks) distributes data across both hard drives and improves speed and capacity — however, if one hard drive fails, the data is lost; RAID 1 (mirrored disks) is a backup solution using both hard drives to store the same information — if one hard drive fails, the information is not lost.
