The True Serial SIP provides true serial (non-emulated) connectivity for non-server devices (like hubs, routers, switches, etc.) that are typically accessed via telnet or ssh. Like all Dell SIPs, it converts the keyboard, monitor, and mouse signals from the device and drives them through a single CAT5 cable, eliminating the typical KVM cable management headaches. The True Serial SIP draws its power from a USB source and has a 'Keep Alive' capability that is designed to keep your device working properly with or without connectivity to the KVM switch. This product has been tested and validated on Dell systems to ensure it will work with your KVM switch. It is supported by Dell Technical Support when used with a Dell system.
