The R630 uses 13th-generation hot-plug supplies in 495W, 750W and 1100W ratings. More than one variant exists at the same wattage; Dell sold different efficiency versions of the 750W unit, for example, so two supplies with identical ratings can still carry different part numbers. Redundant slots require a matched pair: same wattage, same variant. Most single-CPU builds run fine on 495W or 750W; dual-CPU servers with full memory and 10-bay backplanes should stay at 750W or step to 1100W. Replacement is hot-plug, so a failed unit comes out under power. Check the part number on the supply label, or give our team the service tag and we will confirm what shipped in the chassis originally. In-stock units ordered before 12 PM EST ship the same day.

My two 750W supplies carry different part numbers. Is that a problem?

It can be. Dell sold more than one efficiency variant at the same wattage, and supported configurations use a matched pair. If the system logs a PSU mismatch, replace one unit so both part numbers agree.

Are R630 and R730 supplies interchangeable?

They draw from the same 13th-generation family and many part numbers serve both, but verify the specific part against the R630 before ordering. Our team checks part numbers free.

Is the swap really hot-plug?

In a redundant configuration, yes: the healthy supply carries the load while you pull the failed one under power. A single-supply server needs a shutdown for replacement.
